Are the cels that are listed for sale Authentic?
Occasionally, some people inquire as to the authenticity of the cels that I have for sale, or in my personal collection. I've been collecting anime cels now for a number of years. I only purchase cels from reputable sources in Japan, or occasionally, from other reputable cel dealers or collectors. I would never purchase, much less offer for sale, any cel that I felt has questionable origins. Also, I only offer cels for sale from anime that I have personally seen and enjoy (unlike other dealers), so I have an intimate knowledge of the characters, and often can even pick out the seens that the cels are from. Unless otherwise noted (as in the case of 'official' reproduction cels), all cels for sale here are Authentic to the best of my knowledge, and are original production cels from the anime that they were used to create.
Some of the cels here are somewhat expensive, how come?
Awhile back, I decided to try to offer for sale only higher quality cels, but still try to carry a variety of cels in price ranges that would offer something for everyone. Many of the cels that you'll find here are rarer full character shots (of popular characters), and almost all of the characters will have open eyes, and good facial expressions. And all cels are in excellent condition unless otherwise noted. These cels tend to cost more, but I try to get the best deals that I can (usually by placing large orders, or when there is a good Yen to Dollar conversion) so that I can offer these great cels at the best possible prices. Series and demand is also a factor. Also, for my US customers, keep in mind that since I live in the states, shipping and insurance (as well as wait time) is much less than if you order cels from dealers that are located overseas. I've already taken care of that, and I speak great english! :)
What currency are you cel prices listed in?
All cels are priced in U.S. Dollars. All payments must be made in U.S. Dollars, since it is much to expensive to convert other currencies.
Do you offer discounts?
It depends on the cel, but yes, I'm usually very flexible, because I understand that everyone doesn't have an unlimited budget for buying cels (I know I don't). If you see something you like, but the price seems too high, make me an offer. Lots of people do this, and sometimes we are able to work out a deal that satisfies both of us. If not, no hard feelings. I tend to be more flexible on larger orders (say, over $200), or if your buying several cels at the same time.
Do you ever sell cels out of your personal collection?
Yes, from time to time. Usually to make room for newer, better cels that I have purchased.
Why do you sell cels? (Hey, that rhymes...)
I love anime, and as a result, I love cels. I enjoy being able to help fellow collectors get great cels, and I like having all these cels always coming and going. It's alot of fun. Remember that unlike some other 'cel only' dealers, the For Sale section here is only a portion of Robert's Anime Corner, and it takes a tremendous amount of effort to develop and maintain the various sections of this site that I've setup to help other people enjoy anime as much as I do. (Don't forget, I actually watch the anime that I offer cels from). The For Sale section also helps me to support my own anime habit (mostly buying anime DVD's and LD's  (it's going to cost me $90 to get into Otakon this year!)), supports my personal cel collection, and keeps the site banner free. Lastly, it's something that my wife Jamie and I can do together, and that's reason enough......
How long does it take for you to answer via e-mail once I place an order?
Want to find out? Try it! I'm in front on my computer alot, so chances are, once you place an order, I may reply in just a few minutes to a couple of hours. I usually never take longer than 24 hours, and will post when I'll be away for longer than that. I hate cels dealers that take 4 days to respond to an order. That sucks.
How do I know what I'm getting?
Ever wonder why I always include a photo of every cel for sale on my site, and not just a scan? (How many other cels dealers do this?) We'll, I've bought many a cel online, only to find that the cel image was scanned larger than it really was, or the cel had folded corners, or other problems that were not readily apparent in the on-line listing. I wanted to make sure that when you buy a cel here, you know exactly what your going to get, so I scan the cel image side to side for it's actual size, and I take the extra time (it takes a lot of extra time) to include an actual digital photo of each cel. I also always try to note any relevant features of the cel in the listing description, such as stuck drawings, multi-layers, studio seals, etc.  No questions, no problems.
How long does it take for you to ship my cels to me?
Cel orders paid for by money order are generally shipped out the next day after payment is received. Checks take a little longer to clear. Orders paid for with iEscrow can ship as soon as the day after the order is placed (iEscrow allows you to pay with your credit card fro a small fee). All I need is notification from iEscrow that payment has been made for the order, and I'll ship the cels right away. Very soon, I will implement a secure server so that you will have the option to pay with your credit card for no additional fees. In any case, I want you to get your cels as soon as possible. I know you hate waiting for them, and so do I!
What method do you use to ship cels and other merchandise?
All cels and other anime items are shipped via the U.S. Postal Priority Mail service for domestic orders, and EMS Postal Airmail service for International orders. Express mail overnight service is also available upon request for domestic orders. Priority mail allows me to ship your items inexpensively anywhere in the U.S. for delivery in 2-3 days (includes APO/FPO addresses and territories like Guam and Puerto Rico), and is a much better option than UPS, which can require up to 7 days for delivery to some locations. All Priority Mail shipments are fully insured, and I always use delivery confirmation so that I am able to track your orders.
What if my cels arrive damaged?
I SHIP ALL CELS BOXED, (how many other dealers do that?) not flat between cardboard that can get bent up and mangled in shipping or wrapped by craft paper (ever had the post man try to stuff a cel package into your mailbox, even though it says 'Do Not Bend'?). The cels are put in a protective envelope, then are put in a BOX between protective sheets. The box is then filled very tightly with loose fill (usually corn starch peanuts, which are more expensive, but are bio-degradable) and is then sealed tight. This makes the box virtually crush proof (I can stand on it after it's packed). In two years, I have never had a cel damaged in shipping this way, however, I always require insurance on cel shipments, so if your cels do arrive damaged (such as if they get run over by a postal vehicle), you can at least immediately take them to your local post master and file a claim to get your money back.
I hope this helps everyone understand a little more about me! I'll post more here as I get time.
